Final Days at Laurel Highlands High School

Today Rick and I picked up all my welding and metal equipment at school. It is a bittersweet experience to know that tomorrow is my last day at the school. I won't miss the long drive or exceptionally early morning commute and yet there is not a single student who I will not miss. Having had the time in a 60 day residency to really get to know the students it has been so wonderful to watch their progress and encourage their artistic and personal growth. Many students are seniors heading off to college. Some of the under classmen will certainly be back in the art room vying for Mr. DeFazio's help and guidance. I look forward to another time to spend at Laurel Highlands.
